14 000 Piece chandelier remodeled to give the Mahrsha Synagogue a shimmering edge.

Yes, that is right. The Rockefeller, a city built within a city, placed at the very heart of Midtown Manhattan, recognized all around the world for its famous Christmas tree lighting ceremony or perhaps its legendary Rainbow Room (which has played host to many famous and influential people such as Joan Crawford and Tony Bennet) has made its way to South Africa.

Well a part of it, at least.

A view of Rockefeller Center during Christmas time. 30 Rock can be seen at the back.

It is easy to notice that Rockefeller Center is a captivating place by how it had just been describe, but what makes it even more captivating is the iconic architecture that Rockefeller has to offer.

One such iconic building is the American Art-deco skyscraper known as 30 Rockefeller Plaza, or 30 Rock for short.

30 Rock forms the center piece of Rockefeller Center and is also home to the well-known NBC broadcasting company, however, hidden in plain sight within this iconic building, hangs a 10 meter, equally as iconic gem of pure timeless elegance.

A chandelier known as Joie - Crystal Waterfall, designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates, tapers downwards as an inverted and delicate Art-deco skyscraper.

The chandelier is made of 450 free hanging strands with a total of 14 000 Swarovski crystals, that have been strategically divided between each strand to achieve the breathtaking waterfall effect.

Gabellini Sheppard Associate's chandelier has become somewhat of an inspiration to many designers, which is exactly why Eli Levy could not let the opportunity slip by to attempt his own unique replication of the quintessential design and in none other that one of his proudest projects, the Maharsha Synagogue.

The Maharsha Synagogue might not have been built at the heart of a city but more importantly forms the heart of a tight-knight community, which is why, without a doubt, it required something distinctive to illuminate its significance, literally and figuratively.

Eli Levy's version of the Joie chandelier is made of a total of 2000 crystals that hangs from ? individual strands. Despite being smaller in size, the Maharsha chandelier features the same breathtaking elegance displayed by the Joie chandelier.

Eli has received many praise for his innovative design choice and it is easy to understand why. The Maharsha chandelier is worthy to be admired.
