We are Eli Levy Architect & Project Management.

Welcome to our blog!

We are here to bring you all things architecture and design while keeping you intrigued with some of our personal design stories.

Before we get in to all of that, allow us to properly introduce ourselves.

Eli Levy Architect & Project Management is a professional architecture firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Eli Levy, the founder and owner of Eli Levy Architecture and Project Management, studied for his BAS degree in Architecture at the University of Witwatersrand, or Wits as we all know it.

After completing is studies, Eli went on to work for major South African architecture and construction companies such as GLH Architects, who design multi billion rand developments namely Nedbank Sandton, Standard Bank Rosebank and ABSA bank headquarters among others. Eli also enjoyed his work with the celebrated architect, Kate Otten, where he had the opportunity to learn from the greatest, whilst developing his own unique image in the architecture industry.

On an international platform, Eli worked with the award winning, world renowned architectural firm, Moshe Safdi Architects, where he was the head architect for a multi-million dollar development in Tiberius Israel.

Having worked for these firms for approximately five years, Eli decided to take the architecture industry head-on by establishing his own company . During that time, he had designed and managed commercial, retail, industrial & communal developments.

Being able to run his own company was a huge privilege for Eli, but when he was presented with the opportunity to take part in significant charitable projects for his community, he did not even have to think twice.

This project, which included the design and construction of the Maharsha Community Synagogue, boy's schools, girl's school and Nursery School, was commissioned by Rabbi Raff in 2010 and continued well into 2018.

Eli was so passionate about being a part of this project for the community, that he had enlisted his own team of builders from scratch. He took all of them under his wing and taught them exactly how to bring his wonderfully lavish ideas to life, subsequently creating a loyal and trusting relationship with all of them.

Although contributing such a huge part in the development of his community brought him plenty of excitement, it was an equally as challenging process to carry out. It is no easy task to maintain a project of such scale where one is required to play the role of architect and project manager and builder, however, Eli stood up to the challenge with the support of the wonderful community and its leaders.

The Maharsha Synagogue, as well as both school, were a huge success and constitutes as a great testament to Eli's dedication towards his profession.

Now that things have died down somewhat, Eli is once again ready to re-establish his company in a trendy and sociable means.
